eCommerce Database Manager

We have developed a reliable dynamic database system for eCommerce or other general content management applications. The system not only offers the basic functionality of data reference and retrieval, but also allows the database owner to setup a variety of ranking schemes to sort information. Four database structure styles are implemented:
- Products. Content uploads are strictly limited to the content owners; while the content info can be viewed freely to the general public. The movie listing on the Navidot Movies server is an example of the application.
- Wishlist. This is a database structure that opens its content storage to registered users. In terms of the algorithm, the wishlist database is very similar to the product database, with the exception that the upload interface is now open to the public. Again, the movie wishlist implemented on Navidot Movies is an example of such an application.
- Forum. User interactions are directly posted and visible to all qualified viewers. An example of NaviDot's forum application can be found at www.saveedh.com. In terms of structure, a forum database can be considered similar to a user database, where each user has a profile associated with its own set of information (e.g. the postings of online discussions). With the appropriate permissions, each user can also access the content of a large group of user data (e.g. discussion threads).
- eCommerce. One of the most popular Internet applications is eCommerce, which enables automatic online product and information exchange. The eCommerce implementation involves two parallel database systems: product database and user database- two systems running hand-in-hand. Transaction handling and user review processing are typical features for an eCommerce system. An example of NaviDot's eCommerce application can be found at Navidot Movies.
